SUMMARY

The latest model from Hidrex® (replacing the Hidrex® PSP500), the Hidrex® PSP1000 is a fully featured, professional-grade iontophoresis device that is used extensively in hospitals and clinics worldwide, and is ideal for home use. The Hidrex® PSP1000 For Torso and/or Back system is especially configured to treat excessive sweating of the torso (truncal hyperhidrosis) and the back.

What is iontophoresis?

Used by medical professionals the world over since the 1920s, iontophoresis is a safe, painless and non-invasive process, initially devised as a method of delivering medicine through the skin (trans-dermal drug delivery). Since the 1940s, the process has been used without medicine as an effective method of controlling excessive sweating.
Iontophoresis treatment for hyperhidrosis involves using a dedicated iontophoresis machine - such as the Hidrex® PSP1000 - with simple tap water to pass a safe, painless electrical current through the areas of the body where excessive sweating is a problem. The result is a total reduction of sweating in the treatment area.
This method of treating hyperhidrosis has been used by doctors, skin specialists and other medical professionals in hospitals, clinics and dermatology departments around the world for over 65 years.

AS SEEN ON TV - CHANNEL 4’S EMBARRASSING BODIES

“It’s changed my life completely. I don’t sweat any more at all.” - Ed, 17, diagnosed with hyperhidrosis.
The Hidrex® PSP1000 iontophoresis machine has featured numerous times on Channel 4's hit TV show "Embarrassing Bodies" and its spin-off show "Embarrassing Bodies: Live From The Clinic".

SUPPLIED TO NHS HOSPITALS

Manufactured to the highest standards, the Hidrex® PSP1000 is the machine we provide to the NHS. With its robust, reliable and scratch-resistant control pad, the Hidrex® PSP1000 is constructed using medical grade components. Able to withstand heavy use, the control pads and buttons are similar to those used extensively in the medical industry. Fully featured and easy to use, the Hidrex® PSP1000 includes a memory function to store treatment times and current levels, allowing treatments to be fully automated.

MONEY BACK GUARANTEE

To give you total peace of mind, we also provide an EIGHT week money back guarantee on all our professional grade machines, including the Hidrex® PSP1000.
Success rates for iontophoresis treatments are very high; however, we do understand that in some rare cases, patients don’t respond to iontophoresis at all. Our Money Back Guarantee Scheme enables you to purchase your machine, and perform normal treatments in the comfort of your own home, safe in the knowledge that should you not respond to iontophoresis, then you can return your machine for a full refund of the purchase price.
If after 2-3 weeks you find you are not responding to iontophoresis treatment, simply call our Customer Support Team on Freephone 0800 612 4812, who will provide you with help and support to get the best results from your machine. If after their support, you find the treatment remains unsuccessful, contact the team again to arrange the return of the machine. Unfortunately, for hygiene reasons, any additional accessories purchased are non-refundable.

LIFETIME SUPPORT

Our customer service doesn’t stop at the point of purchase. For the lifetime of your machine, we will provide free one-to-one support from advisors who have been involved with iontophoresis for many years, to ensure you always get the best results possible from your purchase.

MAINS POWERED FOR QUICKER RESULTS

Those with more severe cases of hyperhidrosis require a higher power to ensure the best chance of success. Mains powered machines produce considerably higher power, in comparison to battery powered machines. The Hidrex® PSP1000 delivers the highest power available, for even quicker results.

TWO MACHINES IN ONE - DIRECT CURRENT AND PULSED CURRENT

Unlike many iontophoresis machines, the Hidrex® PSP1000 can operate in both “Direct Current” and “Pulsed Current” power cycles. The power cycle refers to the percentage of the overall treatment time that the machine provides an electric current.
A Direct Current iontophoresis machine sends power to the electrodes 100% of the cycle time - in other words, constant power is applied without any break in the flow. Direct Current is more efficient than Pulsed Current, due to the fact that power is applied without a break. However, due to the continuous supply of power, Direct Current can be uncomfortable for those with sensitive skin or skin conditions such eczema, or for any users under 18, and for anyone treating sensitive areas of the body, such as the torso and back.
Pulsed Current, on the other hand, sends pulses of power throughout the treatment time. The on-off power cycle provides a far more comfortable treatment, enabling iontophoresis to be performed at high power on patients with sensitive skin, on younger users, and on patients treating sensitive areas of the body, with zero discomfort.
Standard Pulsed Current machines provide power to the electrodes 50% of the time and then pause for the remaining 50% of the cycle. Uniquely, the Pulse Cycle can be adjusted on the Hidrex® PSP1000 – see below.

UNIQUE FUNCTIONALITY – PULSE CYCLE ADJUSTMENT AND IMMERSION MONITORING

The Hidrex® PSP1000 includes two functions that are only available on Hidrex® machines, including one that is unique to the model.
Exclusive to the Hidrex® PSP1000, Pulse Cycle Adjustment allows the user to the vary the percentage of the overall treatment time that the machine provides an electric current. At the press of a button, users can adjust the pulse rate from a standard rate of 50% through to 100% (direct current), in 10% increments. This breakthrough in iontophoresis technology can improve the overall efficiency of the machine by up to 80%, as users can receive more treatment over the same period of time, compared to when using a standard pulsed current machine - while at the same time not having to cope with the sometimes uncomfortable intensity of direct current.
Immersion Monitoring is a range of safety features exclusive to the Hidrex® range of iontophoresis machines. It includes checking the level of resistance of the patient to ensure that the skin is in a suitable condition to receive iontophoresis treatment.

COMPLETELY SAFE AND SIMPLE TO USE

The Hidrex® PSP1000 is completely safe to use and is certified as a medical device. It is constructed in Germany and surpasses stringent EU manufacturing standards. Treatments are performed using simple tap water, although if recommended by your doctor, this device can be used with prescription medications.

EASY TO STORE, EASY TO TRAVEL

The Hidrex® PSP1000 is compact and lightweight, and it comes supplied in its own modern carry case. The Hidrex® PSP1000 can even be included in your hand luggage on flights. It is also dual-voltage (110v and 240v) so it will work worldwide without the need for additional equipment, such as a transformer.

DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY TO TREAT TORSO AND BACK

The Hidrex® PSP1000 For Torso and/or Back system has been specifically configured to treat truncal hyperhidrosis. It includes everything you need to treat excessive sweating of the torso and back.

WHY SHOULD I USE IONTOPHORESIS?

Iontophoresis is an extremely successful method of treating hyperhidrosis, and it should be considered if high quality maximum strength antiperspirants are unable to control sweat levels. It should be also attempted before considering invasive processes, such as surgery or medical injections.

WHO CANNOT USE THIS DEVICE?

Unfortunately, iontophoresis treatment should not be considered if the patient:

  • has a heart pacemaker
  • has an ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator)
  • is pregnant
  • is fitted with a copper coil
  • has metal implants in the area to be treated
  • has large skin cuts in the area to be treated
  • has a tumour disease
  • has thrombosis
  • has polyneuropathy
  • is under 5 years of age

A prescription from your GP is not required to undergo iontophoresis. However, we are required to see a valid doctor’s prescription (Rx) for Hidrex iontophoresis machine orders being dispatched to the USA, in order to satisfy FDA regulations. Prescriptions should be sent to rx@iontocentre.com

All other countries do not require prescription.
